Mario Auriuso

Mario started his career at Jerome S. Gillman in 1998, where he developed relationships at the Department of Buildings while expediting projects. Mario joined Metropolis Group Inc. in 1999 where he would have the opportunity to grow with the firm, becoming an Associate in 2012. His responsibilities included managing the team of Manhattan Renovations, as well as also leading the Plumbing Division.

Mario developed extensive expertise in code and zoning compliance, with special proficiency in life safety issues. Mario’s field experience in managing plumbing, boiler, sprinkler, standpipe, and mechanical work helped clients navigate this complex specialty, in addition to making him a valuable ally for plumbing and sprinkler companies as he guided them through approvals and inspections.

Brian Redlein

Brian started his career at Jerome S. Gillman in 1996, where he managed projects, while learning the NYC Building Code. Brian then made the move to Metropolis Group Inc. in 1999, where he would spend the bulk of his career and become an Associate in 2003. At Metropolis, Brian managed the New Buildings and Major Alterations Divisions, obtaining approvals from the Department of Buildings as well as meeting with Department of Building Commissioners when a reconsideration were required. He effectively handled all zoning issues including analysis for development sites. In addition, Brian acted as Metropolis’ representative when dealing with any NYC Development HUB related projects or issues for he is meticulously educated and well versed in the NYC Department of Buildings.

Emilio Barletta

Emilio, the founder of MBE Code & Zoning, LLC (2019) has over thirty years of experience in real estate, development and hospitality construction in the Tri-State area.  He received his Doctorate in Architecture from Firenze in Florence, Italy and then moved back to New York to get his Masters in Science of Architecture from Pratt Institute. After graduation,

Emilio took over his father’s company “Barletta Construction LLC” who was a developer in the NYC area. Some of the projects that have been led by Emilio include but are not limited to: commercial properties, mixed-use buildings, restaurants, brownstone renovations, private apartment and homes.

Liliana Ovalles

Liliana started her career working for an architect in 2004, where she learned the requirements for multiple municipal agencies—including the Department of Buildings, Landmark Preservation Committee, and Fire Department of New York—as well as clients’ needs and concerns. Liliana joined Metropolis Group Inc. in 2013. In the New Buildings & Major Alterations Division, Liliana managed major construction projects, working closely with architects, engineers, contractors, and owners/developers. She managed the project managers who served as primary points of contact for these complex, multi-year engagements. Liliana is a registered Class 2 Code and Zoning Representative. She reviews construction plans to confirm compliance and to identify potential issues, and she meets with plan examiners on behalf of clients, as needed. In addition, she monitors project activity, keeping team members informed and on schedule.

In June 2019, Liliana joined MBE Code & Zoning LLC, where she will continue to work closely with architects, engineers, contractors, and owners/developers on their major construction projects.

Jannys Ramos

Jannys started her career at Jerome S. Gillman in 1995, as an administrative assistant managing projects. Jannys joined Metropolis Group Inc. in 2000 as a project coordinator in the New Buildings & Major Alterations Division where she managed new building projects, working closely with architects, engineers, contractors, and owners/developers. Jannys is a highly organized administrator in construction management. She is capable of handling various tasks independently as well as a team player, can work well under pressure and meet deadlines, detail orientated and good communication skills. Dependable and highly motivated.

In June 2019, Jannys joined MBE Code & Zoning LLC, where she will continue to work closely with architects, engineers, contractors, and owners/developers on their new building projects.

Millie Dominguez

Millie started her career at Jerome S. Gillman in 1998, as an administrative assistant managing projects. Millie joined Metropolis Group Inc. in 2002 as a project coordinator in the Major Alterations Division, where she managed with due diligence major projects for high profile clients. Millie handled a heavy load of phone calls and managed to keep a rapport with clients. She coordinated the documents for Department of Buildings, Landmark Preservation Commission, Fire Department and any other city agency, as well as followed through by filing with these agencies, obtaining their approvals as well as permits. Millie prepared and maintained spreadsheets on each project to better convey application status to clients.

In June 2019, Millie joined MBE Code & Zoning LLC, where she will continue to work closely with architects, engineers, contractors, and owners/developers on their major alteration projects.

Nicole Sarnicola

Nicole started her career at Cushman & Wakefield in 1998 with an entry level position working the service desk. There she learned and developed her role which lead to the Executive administration team. Nicole joined Metropolis Group, Inc. in 2003 as a Certificate of Occupancy coordinator and was quickly promoted to Executive Assistant to the President, where her responsibilities included office management, providing intensive support to executive level, managing internal staff relations, preparation and distribution of critical project documentation. In 2013, Nicole was transferred to the Marketing Division to assist with identifying opportunities and organizing major company events. In 2017, she was placed into the newly developed Proposal Division where she had direct contact with clients to develop proposals based upon the specific scope of work for the project.

In June 2019, Nicole joined MBE Code & Zoning LLC, where she ensures that all the company’s proposals are fully executed from start to finish. This involves coordinating the proposal process, preparing the actual proposals and presenting them to clients. Nicole manages and performs responsible professional accounting tasks including maintenance of the general ledger, preparation of financial reports and records, reconciliation of a variety of accounts, and cash flow analysis. She is a strategic point of contact for clients and establish strong relationships. With exceptional interpersonal and communication skills developed throughout her 21-year career she can make sure that there are no issues and that the client is happy.
